Coming in at 545 pages, the world of Garn is filled with lush imagery, from bloody battlefields to rundown inns and stinky docks, the reader is immersed from the very first page. LOOK AT IT I TELL YOU!!!Īny fan of Feist’s previous works would recognise his signature style of storytelling, creating rich visuals and immaculately planned out worlds – King of Ashes is no different. Like hug it and lovey eyes and kissy faces pretty. To the people judging my continuous drawing of attention to the spectacular cartography of my various reads, I am blowing you a rather large raspberry right now. Simple black background with orange and white lettering gives it the pop factor while the smoking crown pulls the readers eye and makes you just want to play with its embossed awesomeness (totally a word…)Īlso… It has a kick arse map. So first off the cover is amazing, as always. And I’m so glad I took my time to savour it because the next one isn’t coming for 5000 years (or at least that’s how it feels anyway). I finally finished it! After sickness, stress, a bazillion hours of overtime at work and endeavouring to keep up with all the arcs being thrown my way, its finally done. 2018 marked his re-entry into the publishing world, coming back with a bang in April.
