It actually offers more functionality than the old direct-connect 30 pin cable, and allows me to use a 12-foot cable to control the image from afar. I use the Lightning AV adapter and a HDMI to Micro-HDMI cable to output iPhone 5 to the projector. I believe they have abandoned the Showwx line. I've called them out on this twice to no response. (For all intents and purposes, 30-pin is a dumb connector, Lightning is a "smart" connector.) MicroVision has no interest in developing an adapter, convinced that Lightning has no video-out capabilities. I already knew the 30-pin to Lightning adapter did not carry video because of the nature of the way Lightning assigns tasks to the pins. I have the Showwx+ and upgraded to iPhone 5 shortly after purchasing.
